We stand in front of the American Flag, place our hand over our heart and recite the pledge of allegiance. When we do this, we are showing how much we take pride in Patriotism. This word is a strong and prevailing way to express the love and pride we have for our country. Many of us tend to forget how fortunate we are to be living in a country with so many freedoms, and rights. We take a lot of this for granite and put it behind us, thinking that there are people just fighting to make us live better lives. Although this is true that the war is taking place to help us, Patriotism is more than just war. Being a patriot is when you take pride in for what you believe in and fight for the rights you want. Without all of the people taking charge of what they believe in, than we would not be able to do everything we are today. Patriotism is still very well respected throughout our country at this time. We all have much respect for the people fighting for our country right at this moment. When you hear the word Patriotism think of believing and courage because these two words are the outlook of a Patriot.
This was really good! You really made sure that your point was set across. A good way to challenge yourself would be to work really hard on having amazing word choice.

ReplyDeleteMakenzie I thought that you did a great job in this piece! I agree with you on how many people usually take for granted that we are living a country filled with freedom. There is only one thing that you did wrong which is you wrote "than" instead of "then" when you are talking about doing the things that you do today. Other than that great job! :)
