We sit in the car with a rush of excitement going through us. At the same time, we are scared out of are minds. The car pulls into the parking lot and we are here. Smiles come to are faces with also the gathering of terror in our bodies. The ticket booth is awaiting us, and we take steps closer and closer. The wristbands are being put on us with help, because we cannot seem to figure out how to attach the band to stay on. Now, we are ready to enter the number one scariest haunted house in the state of Wisconsin. We stand in line, hearing people scream and shout with fright. At the same time, we look at each other and our faces go into shock, filled with both thrill and fear. The line has started moving and we begin walking. This is what we have been waiting for. We are entering the Haunted House that has thrill written all over it.
There are four houses, but the first house we enter is the scariest one of all; the Morgan Manner. It is pitch dark, chilling, and frightening. There are three lines, lined with fencing. Of course, we go into the one line that does not have one single person standing in it. We look around and we realize what we have done. We turn around, and people are surrounding us. The actors are in our faces screaming and breathing on us. Our eyes are wide open like we have seen a ghost, and we stand stagnant. We are sprinting as fast as we can, not worrying who or what is around us. We go into the second line filled with people and we yell. The people, they are following us. They will not leave us alone. Right behind us, there they are. There faces right on ours, there voices screeching in our ears. We are hunched over laughing with excitement and fright. We can’t believe this is what it is going to be like! They have dissapeared, and we are now standing up. Smiles are on our faces and laughter is coming from us. Behind us are two guys that were laughing at us. They are our age.We talk to them and we decide to follow them the entire time. The line is moving again, and now is where we get to really experience the amazement of the Haunted House.
It is only a few minutes into the start, and people are freaking you out. They jump in front of you, scream nonsense, and scare you half to death. Each time you take a step, you wonder if they are going to grab your leg or jump out in front of you. The thrill of not knowing is keeping it incredibly entertaining. The screams are filtering through the air and the anxiety is in each person’s body. It is pitch black and you cannot distinguisgh anything. Each house followed the next one, and more panic filtered. The second one was nothing but obscurity. People crying, some laughing, and most of all people feeling petrified. The fourth one came and we were heartrending that it was almost over. It ended with a maze. Each direction you turned was the wrong way. You started wondering to yourself, are we ever going to get our of here. After turning each way, taking us completely back to the entrance at one point with actors creeping up on you and frightening you we got out. We never thought we were going to say we completed the maze.
When we leaped out, a feeling of sorrow came over us. We were sad to say it was finished. The thrill, the questioning, and the fright were all completely worth the expense. As we say thank you to the people we met and stuck with throughout each Haunted House we were extatic. The time of Allie Snyder and I going into our first Haunted House will never be forgotten. The memories of our screams, laughs, and hand holding will never be left behind us. Everyone should experience the Expo Center Fear Grounds to get the feeling of what an actual Haunted House is and how it makes you feel. Sure, you may be scared, but each moment takes the fear away and washes exhilaration over you.
Makenzie you did such a great job describing how much we were scared and excited at the same time. I know we almost started crying and almost peed our pants because the people were so scary. I remember that when we stepped into the first haunted house I lost my shoe, then when the guy was chasing us with a chainsaw. Fun times,Fun times! I want to go to another haunted house together so we can be as scared as we were on Saturday!!!!!
